Problem
You have a MOSS 2007 instance loaded to and operational on Windows 2003 Enterprise Server SP2. You successfully update WSS to SP2. You then successfully complete the Configuration Wizard. However, at the end of the Configuration Wizard, when it automatically tries to connect to the Central Administration (CA) page, it is unable to and you experience a Service Unavailable message.
Troubleshooting
You then check the Windows System event log and find multiple instances of Error 1059 messages. This error suggests that the problem may involve application pool identities. You reset the application pool identity associated with CA. You then try again to connect to CA, but still experience a Service Unavailable message.
Solution
Reboot the machine.
