The following walks you through how to set the default font in Microsoft Project 2010.
  1. Open Microsoft Project 2010.
  2. On the ribbon, select Format.  The Format ribbon appears.
  3. On the Format ribbon, select Text Styles.  The Text Styles dialog appears.

This works to change existing tasks but when you insert a new task the font type reverts to the default. How do you change the default so new inserted tasks are formatted as desired?

Unfortunately, from what I've researched to date, there is no global setting to accomplish this. However, I did find some good guidance here: Project 2010 - Global Font Selection.

It's 2014, and your post is still helping us. Microsoft has you to thank for making their product a less frustrating "thing" to work with. Thanks again!

Thanks for this, but the heading says default font. This command doe snot change default, it only sets the font for this particular file.
