Tip
To count all of the characters in a Microsoft Word 2010 document, open the document, and then click the Word Count feature in the Status Bar:
This opens a popup dialog presenting word count, character count and other basic document information:
To view word and character counts for selected text, just select the desired text,
and repeat the procedure:
If the Word Count feature does not appear on the Status bar, right-click the status bar, and then select it from the popup list:
